The Producers is a critically acclaimed musical-comedy.  Adapted by Mel Brooks from his 1969 film of the same name, The Producers is as wickedly funny today as it was when it first appeared over 30 years ago.  After several very successful years on Broadway, The Producers has several companies that are currently touring the United States and throughout the world.

Mel Brooks’ humor stands the test of time with hilarious concepts like the remaking of Hamlet into a musical called “Funny Boy” - the premise on which the play opens.

Max Bialystock, once considered to be one of Broadway’s greatest producers, is reeling from the disasterous opening of a flop (the aforementioned “Funny Boy”).  Leo Bloom, a wimpy CPA, dreams of being a famous producer.  Together they come up with a scheme to purposely produce a flop and keep their investors’ money.  Signature musical numbers include the ridiculous “Keep It Gay” and “I Wanna Be a Producer”.  Audiences love the farcical concept of the show and the hilarious dialogue.

The Producers has won a record number of 12 Tony Awards.  The show has also broken box office records for the largest single day box office gross in the history of Broadway.  The Producers remain one of the single greatest successes in the history of theatre.  You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll leave the theatre singing “Springtime for Hitler”.  Buy tickets for The Producers today and experience the excitement of The Producers live!
