JIM GAFFIGAN
In the cluttered world of stand-up comedy, Jim Gaffigan has become one of the medium's most prominent voices with a mixture of clever, soft-spoken humor that pokes fun at human's inherent laziness and the idiosyncrasies of life. One of Gaffigan's trademarks onstage is the high-pitched "aside" that often follows a joke. These side commentaries are meant to emulate an easily-offended audience member, and adds another comical layer to his witty performances. Whether he's talking about the amazingness of bacon, the mystery surrounding Hot Pockets or how awkward he feels in a Waffle House, Gaffigan has crafted his own stage presence and is one of the most successful stand-up comics working today.

Gaffigan was born in Chesterton, Indiana, and attended Georgetown University where he earned a degree in finance. After realizing that being a litigation consultant wasn't his ideal career, he began exploring the entertainment industry and performed stand-up for the first time in 1991. After years of refining his craft, Gaffigan scored his first major break when he was asked to appear on The Late Show with David Letterman in 1993. Letterman was so enamored with Gaffigan's performance that he hand-picked him to develop a new sitcom dubbed Welcome to New York. Although the show was critically-acclaimed, it was canceled after three episodes but opened up a world of new television opportunities.

In addition to his stand-up, Gaffigan is also known for his acting career, which has featured a number of hit shows, such as That '70s Show, Sex and the City, Third Watch and Law & Order. However, Gaffigan's main niche has been his success in comedy, which has also led to mainstream success on the comedy charts. After a series of ho-hum albums while trying to launch his career, Gaffigan's Beyond the Pale would prove to be a major seller and would peak at No. 3 on the Billboard comedy charts in 2007. The comedian would follow this up in 2009 with King Baby, which would climb to No. 1.

Gaffigan has recorded a slew of Comedy Central Specials, many of which have been released alongside his albums. He still tours extensively around the country and released a one-hour stand-up special in 2012 called Mr. Universe, which is available online. During a career that's had its fair share of twists and turns, Jim Gaffigan has emerged as one of the biggest voices in stand-up comedy who has struck a chord with legions of fans around the world.
