Opened in February 2011, the Moody Theatre is the new home for Austin City Limits Live as well as Austin's hottest new venue which says a lot with Austin being known as the "Live Music Capital of the World." The theatre holds 2,750 fans, over 9 times what was able to fit in the old ACL space at the University of Texas. In addition to ACL, the venue hosts some of the biggest shows to come through Austin, while giving a small-venue vibe at the same time. It's not as large as the Erwin Center or Germania Amphitheatre, so you'll never have to think twice about seeing the stage and show in all its glory.
The venue has three levels: floor, mezzanine, and balcony. Sometimes the floor has assigned seating with lettered rows, while other times it will be general admission. Look at ticket listings or call if you want more information on that. Food and beverages can be purchased at every level, as well as the large bar in the outdoor area before every show. The venue has some of the best acoustics of any we've seen and due to the $2.5 million donation from the Moody Foundation to KLRU for the equipment, it's likely one of the best sounding venues in the country.
- Capacity: Approximately 2,750

Concerts at the Moody Theatre at ACL Live
All the big stars from the past and present will be coming through the Moody Theater, and a lot already have in the short time it has been open. Willie Nelson, John Fogerty, and Robert Plant are just a few of the big-time artists to come through so far, and the list will only grow. The venue is sure to turn into a must-stop in Austin, as it sounds out as one of the only new-yet-local feeling bars in an industry crowded by huge arenas and 10,000 seat auditoriums.
