The Austin Convention Center, centrally located in downtown Austin, TX., has 881,400 square feet of space, 54 meeting rooms and two ballrooms. The largest ballroom is 43,300 square feet, making it one of the largest in the state of Texas.
The convention center was first opened in 1992. Construction began seven years later to double the size of the venue. The reopening was in 2002 to the current size. The building hosted the Austin Toros before they made the move to the Cedar Park Center, and serves as the host of many South by Southwest events as well as the Formula 1 Expo and most other large attractions that come through the Austin area.
