Bass Concert Hall in Austin

Bass Performance Hall is the on-campus concert and show venue at the University of Texas. The seating capacity is around 3,000 fans. Bass offers a large orchestra section split into Pit, Orchestra 1, Orchestra 2 and Orchestra 3. In total there are approximately 35 rows. The pit includes rows 1-3 directly in-front of the stage. Orchestra 1 includes rows A-J. Orchestra 2 includes rows K-Y. Orchestra 3 includes rows Z-HH. The First Balcony includes sections L1, LC1, C1, RC1, and R1 in-front. Then ULC1, UC1 and URC1 behind those front sections. There are 11 rows in L1 & R1 (rows A-N). There are 5 rows in the middle three 1st Balcony sections (rows J-N). The back 1st Balcony sections have 7-9 rows in each starting with row Q or R. The Second Balcony at Bass is the highest level and includes sections L2, LC2, C2, RC2, R2, ULC2, UC2, and URC2. There are between 5 and 13 rows in each of those 2nd Balcony sections. The last row in 2nd Balcony is either row X (in ULC2 & URC2) or row Y (in UC2). While it is a small venue we recommend seats in the 1st 20 rows of the Orchestra for the best view, or in the the lowers rows of 1st Balcony sections L1 or R1.

Bass Concert Hall Ticket FAQs

What are the best seats at Bass Concert Hall?

For concerts, seats in the Orchestra Pit is utilized for seating with seats here offering the most intimate experience. For theatrical performances, rows D-K of the orchestra section provide unobstructed views, while not being too close. First balcony seats are also quite popular, they offer clean sightlines from an elevated position.

Will I be able to see anything from an obstructed view seat?

Bass Concert Hall doesn't have any pillars or other permanent structures obstructing a view’s site-lines. Typically obstructed view seats are located near the stage in the far right or left of the orchestra. The sharp angle can cut off the back of the stage for some performances.
