Darrell K. Royal-Memorial Stadium, also known as "DKR" and Texas Memorial Stadium, is an outdoor football stadium located on the campus of the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. What are the best seats at DKR Texas Memorial Stadium?
Seats on the West side of the stadium in Sections 3-6 have been the gold standard for Texas games for years. They are among the first seats to get shade from the oversized upper deck and it is one of the few areas of the stadium with chairback seating. Other high end options include the Touchdown Club (13C-18C) and Texas Club (27C-30C) both offer access to luxurious club areas with food that is included in the ticket price and the option to purchase beer, wine or cocktails.
Which areas offer chair back seating?
DKR has mostly bleacher style seats, but there are certain areas with chairbacks that offer arm rests and drink holders. All of the club-seating at DKR are chairbacks. Other seats that are chairbacks include Sections 3-6 (only row 6 and higher), Sections 101-109 (only first 17 rows), Sections 111-123 (only first 8 rows, Sections 125-131 (only first 8 rows) and Sections 124 & 132 (only first 5 rows).
What amenities in the club sections at DKR?
The Touchdown Club (sections 13C-19C) and Texas Club (sections 27C-30C) offer access to a climate controlled club area with an multiple (free) food buffets. Non-alcoholic drinks are free, while beer, wine and cocktails are available for purchase. The Touchdown Club has high top seating, along a rail along the glass where you can watch the game from inside.
What is the bag policy?
UT football games follow a clear bag policy. Bags must be made of clear material and measure under 12”x12”x6” in size to be eligible for entry. Clutch purses under 4.5” x 6.5”, diaper bags and medical bags are allowed as long as they are within the size limitations following a proper inspection. All venues reserve the right to further restrict what can be brought into the stadium.
UT football has adopted mobile tickets which will be sent to the email address you provide when you order. You must then download the Texassports app to redeem your tickets, being careful to use the same email address you accepted the tickets with when they arrive to you. To enter the stadium on gameday you will need to open your mobile tickets on that app, or provide them from the wallet on your smart phone. Your tickets are scanned from your smartphone to enter the game.
