Experience Circuit of The Americas

COTA Map
  • First and only track in the United States built specifically for Formula 1
  • Total length of the circuit is 3.41 miles (5.49 kilometers)
  • Track will run counterclockwise due to the overwhelming number of left-hand turns; the only other circuits currently run this way are Marina Bay (Singapore), Interlagos (Brazil), Yas Marina (Abu Dhabi) and Yeongam (Korea)
  • Spectator capacity is estimated to be 120,000 (permanent and temporary seating facilities)
  • One unique feature of the circuit is a deliberate widening of the circuit in the corners, to encourage drivers to follow multiple racing lines
  • There are 20 turns (11 left, 9 right) and a total elevation change of over 130 feet, including a long and steep uphill run into the hairpin Turn 1; there will be excellent passing opportunities at the track's signature corner
  • From the start line the cars speed into the first corner - the highest point of the circuit - with an apex positioned perfectly on the crest of the hill
  • Next, the drivers descend downhill into a series of fast left/right sweepers and through a fast blind corner at Turn 10, leaving them at the far end of the circuit and a hairpin of Turn 11
  • Cars then blast down a huge 0.62-mile straight (DRS Zone) back toward the main straight, exceeding 200 MPH before riding the breaks into Turn 12 and the next series of curves
  • This is followed by a downhill, multi-apex corner starting at Turn 16 that has very limited run-off before the final two corners of the circuit and then main straight
