2022 CFP Championship Game Tickets
College football's next national champion will be crowned in January 2022 in Indianapolis, as the College Football Playoff National Championship Game will be played on Monday, January 10th at Lucas Oil Stadium. The teams playing for the CFP title will be the winners of the CFP Semifinal Games from the upcoming College Football Playoffs. The two Semifinal games will be played in the Cotton Bowl and Orange Bowl, with the winning team from each of those games advancing to the Championship Game.
Which teams will play in the 2022 CFP Championship Game?
Nobody knows yet which college football team will win the National Championship at the end of the 2021 college football season, but there are safe some bets you can make. The programs most likely to end their season playing for a championship trophy in Indy are: the Aggies, Badgers, Bearcats, Buckeyes, Bulldogs, Crimson Tide, Cyclones, Ducks, Fighting Irish, Gators, Longhorns, Sooners, Tar Heels, and Tigers. Each of those teams has a ton of talent and opportunity to win a title.
The teams to play for a National Title will not be known until after the college football regular-season and the CFP Semifinal games. Even so, there are a handful of teams which are favorites to earn a spot in the College Football Playoff which could lead to a National Championship Game appearance. There is a good chance that one, or both, of the following teams could be playing in Miami for the National Title: Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Texas or Utah. CFP Championship Game
The College Football Championship Game is the culmination of the College Football Playoff, which decides the NCAA College Football National Champion. The first-step has four teams play in two CFP semifinal games, which are played in place of current bowl games. The winning teams from those games will face-off in the College Football Playoff national championship game.
The CFP championship game was modeled after the Super Bowl, so the host cities bid on the right to host college football's biggest game. That means the CFP Championship Game is played is played at a different venue each year; some may be existing college stadiums while others may be NFL venues. The College Football Playoff system replaced the BCS in 2014, and provides four teams with the chance to win the National Title. The universities selected to the CFP are selected by a committee who decide which schools earn those coveted spots. CFP rankings are released weekly during the college football regular-season, but the final determination is made on Championship Saturday during the conference championship games.
