The Bowl is played each January at Ladd Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. Since 1999, the Bowl has treated millions of fans to some of the most exciting bowl games in college football. The game matches up one of the top teams from the Sun Belt Conference with a peer from the Mid-American Conference. The is sponsored by GoDaddy, and has been sponsored in the past by GMAC. 2017 Bowl Preview

The 2015 Bowl will see the Bowling Green Falcons take on the Georgia Southern Eagles at Ladd Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. The Bowling Green Falcons are coming off a MAC Championship and have one of the top offensive attacks in all of college football. Falcons quarterback Matt Johnson will be the player to watch in the 2015 Bowl, and may eclipse the 5000 passing mark on the season at the game. Georgia Southern finished just short of a Sun Belt title, and has been playing its top football down the stretch. The Eagles rely heavily on running back Matt Breida, and will try and control the clock and slow down the game.

Ladd Peebles Stadium is home to the Bowl, the Senior Bowl and the South Alabama Jaguars. It was opened in 1948 and is also used for some of the biggest concert acts in the country.

Main Level

There is only one level of the stadium, with the west stands being from Section A through K. The east stands go from Section L through V. South stands are Sections Y1 through Y5, and north stands are W1-W3 and X1-X2.

What are the best attractions to see when in Mobile for the Bowl?

While in town, go check out the Battleship USS Alabama at Battleship Memorial Park. You get to take in the engine room, weapons compartments and all of the decks above the main deck. The Crescent Theatre is a great place to take in a movie that has old school charm and a nice beer selection to go with your film.

Where are the best places to eat when in Mobile for the Bowl?

Noja has an eclectic mix of cuisine and is one of the best restaurants in the area. From scallops to lamp chops, this restaurant may be the best place to dine in a 100-mile radius. There’s also a Ruth’s Chris in town on Airport Blvd., which is always tasty.

What are the best games in Bowl history?

This has to start and end with the 2001 game, where Marshall beat East Carolina 64-61 in double overtime. It featured two future NFL starting quarterbacks that played on the same team in David Gerrard and Byron Leftwich. East Carolina went up 38-8 at half time but a furious comeback led by Leftwich tied the game with seven seconds left, going on to win in the second OT.

Who are the most famous players to play in the Bowl? Bowl MVPs (including the former GMAC Bowl) include future NFL Hall of Famer LaDanian Tomlinson, who scored two rushing touchdowns to give TCU a lead going into the fourth quarter. Two-time Super Bowl champion Ben Roethlisberger also won the award in 2003.
