2017 Motel 6 Cactus Bowl Preview
The 2016 Cactus Bowl is slated to kickoff on January 2nd, 2016. The Cactus Bowl will move to Chase Field this season, making its first appearance at the stadium. The game will see the West Virginia Mountaineers taking on the Arizona State Sun Devils. The Mountaineers have been playing their best football down the stretch, winning 4 of their final 5 games. West Virginia has a balanced offensive attack, that is headlined by running back Wendell Smallwood. The Sun Devils record does not fully represent the team’s talent this season, with Arizona State losing close games to Utah, Oregon, and Washington State. Sun Devils quarterback Mike Bercoivici is one of the nation’s top arms, and Arizona State lives and dies through the air. The Cactus Bowl has been a high scoring event over the last few years, and the 2016 game looks to be no different.
