2011 Champs Sports Bowl Game Preview:
It’s a good thing that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish travel well because they will be heading into an essential home field bowl disadvantage when the meet the Florida State Seminoles in Orlando’s Citrus Bowl. Both teams, coming off 8-4 regular seasons, are looking to put a finishing touch on their 2011 seasons with a bowl win. For Florida State, it will depend on a stout defense that ranked fourth nationally in points against. The Irish will counter with the arm of mid-season QB replacement Tommy Rees, who will look to Play Like A Champion on December 29th in Orlando.

2010 Champs Sports Bowl Preview:
The Big East's West Virginia Mountaineers and the ACC's North Carolina State Wolfpack will enter the Citrus Bowl on December 28th wondering "what if." These two teams were destined to either outright win or play for their conference championships until losses by West Virginia to eventual Big East champ UConn and a Wolfpack loss to Maryland in the season finale derailed those dreams.

West Virginia comes into the game with the second stingiest defense in the nation, giving up an average of 12.8 points. Combined with quarterback Geno Smith's outstanding 2,567 yard and 23 touchdown year, the Mountaineers actually finished first in the Big East, thus making them BCS-bowl worthy. The question is whether a chip on their shoulder will sink them or make them stronger against a Wolfpack team that boasts a quarterback that ranked 11th in the nation in total offensive stats.

Russell Wilson's 23/6 TD-to-INT ratio for NC State was one of the main reasons the team saw its first winning season in five. It's amazing considering they started the year with a completely new (and green) defensive line, a unit that would eventually yield twelfth-best rushing defense in the nation and fourth in tackles for a loss and sacks. Their O-line was a liability, however, and one that might be the key to a Mountaineer victory in Orlando.
