After falling to 0-2 in their first 2 games, UCF would win 9 of their next 10 games and earn a share of the AAC title. Both NC State and UCF are prolific passing teams and the 2014 St. Petersburg will likely be a high scoring game.
2013 Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl Preview
The 2013 Beef “O’ Brady’s Bowl will match up the East Carolina Pirates against the Ohio Bobcats at Tropicana Field on December 23. While both teams finished out the season as top contenders in their conferences, East Carolina looks to have the slight edge in the bowl game.
With one of the top ten passing offenses in the country the Bobcats will have their hands full with the Pirates 330 yards of passing average. ECU’s junior quarterback, Shane Carden, is just 134 yards shy of going over 4,000 on the season and will look to exploit the Ohio defense with his leading receiver Justin Hardy. Defense has been secondary for the Pirates all season long as they aim to take the advantage by simply outscoring their opponents, something they will surely try to continue against Ohio.
The Bobcats will need their defense to step up and make some big plays to give Tyler Tettleton as many snaps as possible. Though Ohio is not nearly as efficient on offense as the Pirates, they have still managed to produce an average of 375 yards of total offense per game. Keeping Carden off the field and Tettleton on the field will only help Ohio keep the game from turning into a blowout.
It’s the MAC vs. C-USA as the Bobcats and Pirates head to St. Petersburg, Florida for the 2013 Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM EST at Tropicana Field where even in December the weather is looking to be full of sunshine.
