TaxSlayer Bowl Event Guide
EverBank Field (formerly known as Jacksonville Municipal Stadium), which was built in 1995, serves as the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars and as the venue for the TaxSlayer Bowl. This stat-of-the-art sports complex is situated along the St. Johns River in downtown Jacksonville. The stadium was constructed partly with elements from the now defunct TaxSlayer Bowl Stadium. It was designed by HOK Sport and cost $134 million.
Capacity varies with the largest crowds being accommodated for the Konica Minolta TaxSlayer Bowl and other such special events. The total number of seats for the TaxSlayer Bowl stands at 84,000. The stadium includes a large club section and many luxury suites. For the TaxSlayer Bowl, the West Side of the stadium is the ACC side and the East Side is designated as the section for the Big 12, Big East or Notre Dame. There are four primary entry gates to the venue. Escalators, each 100 feet long, take fans into the venue.
The EverBank Field was renovated at the cost of $40 million between 2003 and 2004. There were 700 outdoor seats added to a new Terrace Suite, which sits on top of the south end zone. It includes a 10,000 square foot veranda and a 19,000 square foot lounge with restaurant food and seating. The Terrace Suite includes amazing and awe inspiring panoramic views of the St. John's River on one side of the lounge and dynamic, action-filled views of the playing field on the other.
The Budweiser Bud Zone was also added. This 15,000-square-foot sports bar opens onto the field and boasts of having a state-of-the-art audio-visual system for fans. Those in luxury areas take express elevators, named "Suite Express," to their seats. Suites open two hours prior to game time.
Luxury suites allow patrons to access the East and West Touchdown Club lounges—the Bud Zone and Sky Patio. These lounges offer topnotch dinning and beverages. Those in the luxury areas must have their hands stamped when exiting into the lounge areas. This allows them to easily pass back into the suite area.
Suites include special food and beverage ordering privileges. There is a game day menu available and orders can be made through the suite attendant of called in via the house phone. All fees for food and beverage orders are in addition to the price for suite tickets. Alcohol may be ordered and consumed in the suite but it may not be taken out of the suite.
There are Executive and Director Suites. The Executive Suites are a bit more upscale than the Director Suites. However, both offer topnotch perks and advantages to fans.
