Brazilian National Soccer Team Tickets Information

The Brazil Men’s National Soccer Team is the most accomplished national soccer team in the world. No soccer team has had the success, impact, or following that Brazil has accumulated over the years. Brazil joined the International Federation of Association of Football (soccer), also known as FIFA, in 1923, and have been dominating the sport ever since. Brazil has been particularly successful on soccer’s largest stage, the FIFA World Cup. Brazil has won close to 70% of their games in the World Cup, and has an over +100 goal differential in those matches. Brazil also holds the distinction of being the only national team to compete in every FIFA World Cup. Currently, Brazil is the only team to have won a World Cup on four different continents, winning in Europe, South America, North America, and Asia. Brazil has also been extremely successful in South American Football Confederation or CONMEBOL matches. Along with Europe’s UEFA, CONMEBOL is the most competitive of the international soccer confederations, and has produced over 8 World Cup Champions. Part of the reason for Brazil’s success has been the play of some of the world’s most iconic players. Maybe more than any other team in the world, Brazil has produced and relied upon star players. Legends such as Pele, Ronaldo, Romario, Rivaldo, and Ronaldinho all wore the green and yellow of the Brazil men’s national soccer team, and captivated world audiences. Throughout the years, the Brazil Men’s National Soccer Team has garnered a few nicknames, including the Green and Yellow (Verde-Amarela) and the Little Canary (Canarinho).

Brazilian National Soccer Team Rivals

Brazil vs. Argentina

Often referred to as the Battle of the South Americans, Brazil vs. Argentina is one of the best sports rivalries in the world. The two soccer powerhouses have been meeting on the soccer field for over 100 years and have produced some of the iconic matchups in international soccer. Argentina and Brazil have combined for over half a dozen World Cup Championships on more than 12 finals appearances. It is not uncommon for both to be ranked in the top 10 soccer teams in the world and both are always packed with talent. There may not be an international soccer rivalry as heated, competitive, or prolific as Brazil vs. Argentina.

Notable Brazilian National Soccer Team Victories

2002 FIFA World Cup

Brazil came into the first FIFA World Cup held in Asia, looking to become the 1st team to win titles on 4 different continents. Not only did Brazil win the tournament, they dominated, winning every single game that they played. The Green and Yellow came out of the group stage undefeated and rolled through a brutal stretch of Belgium, England, and Turkey to reach the World Cup Finals against Germany. The matchup with Germany represented the two most successful teams in World Cup soccer history. Brazil dominated the game behind Ronaldo’s 2 goals and took home a record 5th World Cup Championship.

1994 FIFA World Cup

After dominating the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s, Brazil came into the 1994 FIFA World Cup on a bit of a drought. The Yellow and Green had not won a World Cup Soccer Tournament in almost a quarter of a century. Brazil would win their group, and then win 3 games by 1 score, including a 3-2 victory over the Netherlands in one of the most exciting quarter finals soccer games in World Cup history. In the finals, Brazil defeated Italy 3-2 on penalties to win a 4th World Cup Soccer Tournament.

1970 FIFA World Cup

The Brazil Men’s National Soccer team entered the 1970 FIFA World Cup as one of the favorites to win the tournament. Star player Pele had already cemented himself as one of the top players of all time, and the 2 time World Cup winning team were brimming with confidence. Brazil played almost flawless soccer, winning every game that they entered, including wins over power programs England, Uruguay, and Italy in the World Cup Finals.

1962 FIFA World Cup

Only 4 years after Brazil’s first World Cup title, Brazil was primed to claim a 2nd championship in Chile. Once again led by Phenom Pele, Brazil cruised to a 2nd World Cup title, with a 3-1 victory over Czechoslovakia in the Finals.

1958 FIFA World Cup

After reaching their first World Cup Finals in 1950, Brazil was set on winning their first World Cup in 1958. The Tournament marked the debut of a 17 year old Brazilian player named Pele who would go on to change the way soccer was played forever. Behind Pele’s brilliance, Brazil defeated the host Sweden 5-2 in the Finals to win their first World Cup. The victory marked the 1st time that a team not from Europe had won a World Cup hosted by a European nation.
