Houston Sports
There are four major professional sports team in Houston: Houston Astros, Houston Texans, Houston Rockets and Houston Dynamo. College sports also has a big following with Houston and Rice located in-town, while Texas A&M and Texas are just a short-drive away. If it’s a big event, you can bet it’s taken place in Houston. NRG Stadium has been the go-to venue since it was built for the Houston Texans, and with a seating capacity of more than 71,000, it is one of the largest stadiums in the NFL and has hosted everything from the Super Bowl to the NCAA Final Four.
Houston Concerts
Houston is one of the fastest growing cities, so all the big concert tours will schedule show to play there. The biggest concert venue in Houston is NRG Stadium, and there are dozens of smaller venues that host shows every night like Warehouse Live. The biggest concerts in Houston occur each year during the Houston Rodeo, which is a must-see for any music fan as marquee performers play each night for two weeks.
Houston Theater
Houston has a robust theater scene with travelling Broadway shows, plays and holiday shows coming to venues like the Sarofim Hall-Hobby Center, the Brown Theater (in the Wortham Theater Center) and the Alley Theatre – all within walking distance of each other on Texas Avenue.
Houston is a great event city and has plenty to choose from each week. If you love music, there will be a show you want to see and H-town fans are die-hard fans when it comes to their teams.
