Kansas City Ticket Information

When one thinks of Missouri, the first city that often comes to mind is St. Louis. However, the state also is home to another beautiful destination - Kansas City. The largest city in the state, this cultural enclave has something for everyone whether they are sports enthusiasts, art buffs or simply just looking to take in part of the United States Midwest.

Kansas City has also earned a reputation for its cuisine as well, specifically barbecue. Though it is home to numerous popular establishments, Gates Bar-B-Q stands above the rest. The first restaurant was founded in 1946 and has become famous for developing its own style of barbecuing.

Sports in Kansas City

Kansas City is home to one of the oldest franchises in the National Football League, the Kansas City Chiefs. Since their beginnings as an original member of the AFL, the Chiefs have played an integral role in the league, even appearing in the inaugural Super Bowl. The Chiefs also have one of the biggest home field advantages in the NFL thanks to Arrowhead Stadium. The field has been home to the Chiefs since 1972, and is widely regarded as one of the most difficult places for opposing teams to play, which should surprise nobody as it often features 76,000 screaming fans.

Joining the Chiefs at the heart of the city's sports culture are the Kansas City Royals. Although the team entered the MLB in 1969, they quickly gained a loyal following, eventually winning a world series in 1985. Attendance for the Royals has skyrocketed after the Royals made back-to-back World Series appearances, and won the World Series in 2015. The Royals have played at Kaufman Stadium since 1972, and despite being one of the older parks in the league, it continues to be one of the most beautiful.

Baseball and football are not enough for Kansas City as they also have a MLS team, Sporting Kansas City. Sporting KC has a very loyal fan base, and the team’s fan base has only grown ever since the team won the MLS Cup in 2013. Now, almost every one of their games sells out Children's Mercy Park.
