The city is perhaps best known for being home to Walt Disney World. While Disney World is likely the most famous attraction in Orlando, it is definitely not the only one. The city is home to the Orlando Magic of the NBA. The team has enjoyed a loyal following since they began playing in the 1989, and despite their short history have seen a number of well-known players come through including Dwight Howard, Penny Hardaway and Superman himself, Shaquille O'Neal.
Outside of the Magic, the city also plays host to a pair of college football bowl games. Orlando hosts both the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl and the Russell Athletic Bowl at Camping World Stadium, formerly known as Citrus Bowl Stadium. The stadium is among the oldest in the country, having been opened since 1936, and has seen everything from Wrestlemania to the 1994 World Cup played on its surface.

Along with sports and Disney World, Orlando is also home to many music venues that host some of the top touring acts in the country. Some of the most popular Orlando music venues are Hard Rock Live, House of Blues, CFE Arena, Back Booth and The Social. Downtown Disney is also known for hosting some of the top theatre productions in the country, including Cirque Du Soleil.

The Arnold Palmer Invitational is one of the most prestigious golf tournaments on the PGA Tour and it takes place in Orlando every March. The Invitational consists of 120 of the top golfers in the world to compete in the tournament. The Arnold Palmer Invitational takes place at the Bay Hill Club and Lodge, which is a private golf resort located in Bay Hill, right outside of Orlando. The course spans over 270 acres and has been owned by legendary golfer Arnold Palmer since 1974.

Summer in Orlando
Summer is one of the most popular times to visit Orlando and while the main attractions are Disney and Universal, you can’t forget about the music scene in Orlando. One of the top music venues in Orlando is the House of Blues, which is located in Downtown Disney. The venue has a 1,500 capacity for concerts and allows fans to see some of the biggest national touring artists up close.

Fall in Orlando
The Orlando Magic is Orlando’s most popular major league sports team. The Magic start their season in October and play through April. While the Orlando Magic have never won an NBA Championship, they have played in the NBA finals twice. The Magic play their home games at Amway Center, which is one of the newest venues not only in the NBA, but in the entire country.

Winter in Orlando
Orlando is known for hosting college football bowl games every winter. The bowl games are the Citrus Bowl and the Russell Athletic Bowl.
