2014 Big Ten Basketball Tournament Preview

Some of the top teams in the Big Ten this year will be Ohio State, Michigan State and Wisconsin. Tom Izzo's Michigan State team is always a big player in both the conference and national tournament, while many Big Ten teams are capable of taking the conference tourney bid. Purdue, Illinois and Michigan have all won the tournament and Indiana has proven ITSELF to be a Midwest powerhouse that can make a big run. Ohio State has won 3 of the last 4 tournaments. A team as low as a #11 seed has made the final of the tournament so it's anybody's game.

2013 Big Ten Basketball Tournament Preview

There seems to be no shortage of talent within the Big Ten as the conference continues to post teams among the nation’s top polls. From a #1 Michigan to a #1 Indiana and all seven of the Big Ten teams that have littered the to 25 this year, the conference is stacked. Indiana may be sporting the Big Ten #1 spot but Michigan and a slew of other teams are in attack mode as the regular season winds down. Inside a bracket where even the seventh and eighth seeds are sporting twenty wins capturing that first round bye will mean everything. Team’s on the edge like Wisconsin need a win now more than ever in hopes of securing a second round entrance into the Big Ten Tournament avoiding the likes of Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa.

It will only get harder for advancing teams as the horizon includes not just the Big Ten best teams but also the nation's best teams. Indiana and Michigan are among few teams in the nation with five or less overall losses and have high expectations of keeping it that way. Having only lost to four conference opponents Indiana will be looking to surpass their tournament experience in 2012. Among teams looking for a repeat of last year's tournament, Michigan State and Ohio State are plenty capable of bringing spoils to this year’s favorite. Though only one team can win the Big Ten Tournament odds are there will be multiple Big Tenner’s in this year's NCAA Tournament.

2012 Big Ten Basketball Tournament Preview

Last year Ohio State ran away from the field at the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament; this season their bitter rival, the Michigan Wolverines, may do the same. Or it may be the Michigan State Spartans who bring another conference tournament title back to East Lansing. Michigan State, Ohio State and Michigan come in as the heavy favorites to win the 2012 Big Ten tournament, but the talent is deep across the conference. Expect great action on the court at Bankers Life Fieldhouse as old rivals compete for shiny, new hardware.
