The Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series, which awards points for athletic victories over the other university, is a staple in this in-state rivalry. The rivalry in basketball dates back to 1909 and has been played over 60 times and annually since 1983. With bragging rights on the line and both basketball programs improving, this rivalry has continued to get better in recent seasons and will only continue to grow in the future.

Where is the best place to park at Carver–Hawkeye Arena?
General public parking is available in the Finkbine Commuter lot (Lot 65) and the Kinnick Stadium lot (Lot 43). All parking ramps near Carver-Hawkeye Arena are also available on game days. Parking space for the disabled is located in the west end of the Dental lot (Lot 40) across the street from the south entrance of Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The rate for parking in surface lots is $5 for each vehicle. Fans parking in ramps will be charged the hourly rate.
