NCAA Mens Basketball Midwest Regional Preview History
Session 1 - Midwest Regional Semi-Finals
3/28 @ 7:15pm - #11 Tennessee vs. #2 Michigan Wolverines
Tennessee and Michigan will be kicking off the NCAA Tournament Midwest Regional at Lucas Oil Stadium and for the Vol's it will be game number 4 of the tournament. As the only First Four team still alive in the tournament, Tennessee is no stranger to heading into a game as the underdog, in fact they have only played in one tournament game where were considered otherwise. However, Michigan poses a much more sustainable threat with a #2 seed and a reputation as one of the top teams in the nation. Tennessee's strength lies in the paint with close to 40 rebounds a game, 20th in the nation, and their hard-nosed defensive ability. Michigan's biggest advantage heading into the Sweet 16 against Tennessee is their ability to create runs and score from the outside. With one of the best field goal percentages in the country combined with Stauskas' three point shot, the Wolverines can score from literally every spot on the court.
3/28 - #8 Kentucky Wildcats vs. #4 Louisville Cardinals
Game two of the Midwest Regional will be a treat for all in attendance. Whether in the NCAA Tournament or just another regular season matchup, when Louisville and Kentucky get on the court together the rivalry that lives with in the two teams takes over. Kentucky crashes the boards like no other team in college basketball and Louisville scores just the same. The Wildcats will be coming of a huge win over the highly anticipated Shockers that may provide some extra motivation for Kentucky. In similar fashion, Louisville knows how the NCAA Tournament Champion Title feels and will be looking to make a trip back to the Final Four for the third year in a row.
Session 2 - Midwest Regional Final:
3/30 - #2 Michigan vs. #8 Kentucky
Session 2 of the Midwest Regionals is also known as the Elite 8 and will feature the winners of Tennessee vs. Michigan and Kentucky vs. Louisville. No matter which way you draw it up, the Elite 8 at Lucas Oil Stadium has all the ingredients to be a spectacular day of basketball.

2013 Midwest Regional Preview:
Lucas Oil Stadium will under-go a transformation that will turn the Colts home into the setting for the 2013 men's Midwest Regional. As expected Louisville was able to get through the bracket with ease and knock off the #16 and #8 seeds in the second and third rounds to get to the Sweet 16. However, their opponent in the Sweet 16, Oregon, pulled out upsets at all the stops getting through #5 Oklahoma State and #4 Saint Louis to advance to the regional. Louisville has been unstoppable thus far in the tournament but will be forced to keep up with the challenging fast break offense of the Oregon Ducks.
The second Sweet 16 game of the Indianapolis tournament will pit two very historic college basketball programs, #3 Michigan State and #2 Duke. Duke didn't seem to struggle much during its bracket challenges in the second and third rounds though Creighton did offer some stiff competition. Michigan State ran in to some early troubles with Memphis but found their rhythm later in the second half for the win. With two offenses that are capable of getting up by ten within seconds, defense will be the key to the winner of the Spartan - Blue Devil game.
The Sweet 16 is set to begin and the bracket looks more competitive than ever. Don't miss any of the action as Michigan State and Duke play for a spot against either Louisville or Oregon among the NCAA'a Elite 8. Games at Lucas oil Stadium begin with Louisville and Oregon on March 29 at 7:15pm followed by Michigan State and Duke at 9:45pm.
