Pac-12 Basketball Tournament Preview History
2014 Pac-12 Basketball Tournament Preview:
The Pac-12 usually has a few teams that can compete for both the conference title and the national championship, but 2014 could be much different. Half a dozen teams look to be major players and they look to make the conference tournament as competitive as ever. Arizona, Oregon, Colorado and UCLA are the strongest of the bunch coming out of the gate, but that could change with a strong push from Arizona State or Utah. While all those teams will compete for the title, it could be Arizona’s to lose as they come into the New Year ranked #1 in the country after a big win over #6 Duke.
2013 Pac-12 Basketball Tournament Preview:
The Pac 12 is packing up and taking the 2013 conference tournament inland to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and though the Bruins are front runners it's not by much. UCLA led the conference overall in the regular season but only maintained the position by a one game difference as Arizona, Oregon and Cal all settled in right behind the Bruins. Last year's champs, Colorado, found themselves missing out on the first round bye again and will have to pull out a win against Oregon State before taking on Arizona in the second round. Washington fell short of last year's #1 seed as they find themselves playing in the first round instead of watching it.
Overall the conference is sporting a pretty solid lineup of teams as nine of the twelve hit .500 or higher in conference play. First round competition should be somewhat of a landslide with Washington, Colorado, and USC coming out on top. The first game of the tournament could be one of the closest as Stanford and Arizona get the madness started. 2012 Pac-12 Basketball Tournament Preview:
This year will be the first time the Pac-12 basketball tournament has been played with twelve teams, as Colorado and Utah join their conference mates at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The competition is wide open this year as no Pac-12 team has truly separated themselves from the rest. Cal, Washington, Arizona and Oregon will be the favorites, but this is a year that any team could rise up to claim the Pac-12 tournament title. Last year the Washington Huskies rode a #3 seed to a championship over perennial power Arizona.
2011 Pac-10 Men's Basketball Tournament:
The PAC-10 has been tight all year, and now it's come down to the tournament, which is entering its tenth edition. The conference has been up and down this season, but with the Arizona Wildcats leading the way, look for some great fast-paced west-coast basketball!
