Sweet 16 Memorable Games

2011 – (1) Ohio State vs. (4) Kentucky

Ohio State was one of the favorite to win the tournament, but Kentucky was able to pull off the 62-60 upset on the #1 seed behind the play of Josh Harrellson and DeAndre Liggins. National Player of the Year candidate Jared Sullinger scored 21 points and racked up 16 rebounds for the Buckeyes, but Kentucky held William Buford to only 2-of-16 shooting in the win.

2011 - (10) Florida State vs. (11) VCU

Part of VCU’s unlikely march to the Final Four in 2011, Virginia Commonweath took down Florida State in a 72-71 overtime win. It was a great game and it led to one of the best postseason runs in NCAA history.

2010 – (1) Syracuse vs. (5) Butler

Butler beat Syracuse 63-59 to make the Elite 8 for the first time in school history in 2010, and ended up streaking all the way into the National Championship game against Duke. Butler came out to a 10-point lead at half time, stunning the Orangemen that were heavily favored to go through.

2008 – (3) Wisconsin vs. (10) Davidson

The world began to find out exactly who Stephen Curry was, as the sharpshooter scored 33 points and had four steals in the major upset of Wisconsin 73-56. Davidson outscored the Badgers 22-20 by himself in the second half, sending Wisconsin packing way before everyone expected them to.
