College Football Tickets

Come August, campuses all over the country will undergo massive changes in the atmosphere as school spirit fills the air in preparation for the 2018-19 college football season. While spirit and enthusiasm are atop the checklist for attending a college football game, perhaps one of the more unescapable items is the game day ticket. Prices in college football are reliant on many factors that include a team's schedule, expected performance and recent performance.

The road to the fifth College Football Playoff will be underway soon enough and fans from the nation's largest schools are clamoring for the best seats at the top games. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Michigan Wolverines - who will renew their historic rivalry again next season - have tickets that are among the most sought-after in the country thanks to their rich histories and multiple rivalry games played annually. The Alabama Crimson Tide can be included in that group as well, with two College Football Championship titles in the past three years fueling the demand for tickets even more. Other programs with mixed success in recent years, such as the Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas Longhorns, USC Trojans and Georgia Bulldogs, among others, are right there in terms of ticket demand and prices.

As mentioned, sports rivalries usually drive a ticket price up, but when it comes to rivalry games in the NCAA no sport comes close to replicating the hype surrounding games like the Red River Showdown, Iron Bowl, or Egg Bowl. When the Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners head to Cotton Bowl Stadium for the Red River Showdown it not only creates a demand of close to triple both teams' average ticket prices, but has also become one of the most expensive games in the country each year. Other big games of the 2018 season that could see similar effects include Clemson at Texas A&M, Ohio State vs. TCU and Alabama vs. Louisville, along with classics like Army vs. Navy and Florida vs. Georgia. If any of these games are on your 2018 college football checklist, securing a seat early is one of the best ways to keep the cost of attending at a reasonable price.
