CMU vs. WMU
Dating back to 1907, this rivalry is one of the most contentious all-Michigan matchups in the country. The two schools have played over 80 times, meeting annually since 1943. The winner of the game is awarded the Victory Cannon Trophy, which is one of the largest and most coveted trophies in the sport. The outcome also helps determine who will win the Michigan MAC Trophy, a contest that also includes Eastern Michigan. This is one of the defining rivalries of the MAC, and one of the highlights of every season.
CMU vs. EMU
Although this matchup does not get the same hype as the WMU game, it has been every bit as competitive over the last decade. The schools have played over 85 times, with the Chippewas owning a healthy advantage in the overall series. Since the origin of the Michigan MAC trophy in 2005, this rivalry has been taken to a new level, with the Chippewas and Eagles winning the trophy competition 8 of the first 9 seasons. This rivalry has evolved into one of the most important in the MAC.
