Since the start of the 1999 season, the Minnesota Golden Gophers have been one of the more consistent teams participating in bowl season in college football. Another memorable win occurred in the 2003 Sun Bowl against the Oregon Ducks. The victory came in the final moments and gave the Golden Gophers nine wins on the season, along with a top 25 finish at seasons end.
