Attending an Air Force Falcons football game is a unique experience within college football. There is a pageantry at a game featuring a service academy team, like Air Force, that just makes it a special atmosphere for watching football. All 4,400+ cadets at the Academy assemble before game time, and attend each game. The home crowd is solidly behind the Falcons, but even the fans from the visiting team will applaud Air Force as the players on their team are also serving their country in the military. That respect and camaraderie makes being in the stands for an Air Force game just feel more special. Then watching their Falcon mascot Mach 1 dive into the stadium before the game, and the unbelievable Wings of Blue parachuting teams, are two of the most unique experiences in the country and are sure to give you chills.
Air Force play their home games in Colorado, where they routinely host many of the biggest name programs in the Western USA including Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State and UNLV. The biggest games on the Falcons schedule are usually when they play against the other two service academies, Army and Navy. The games with the Black Knights and Midshipmen decide which of those service academies is the champion and will bring home the annual Commander In Chief's trophy, which first debuted in 1972. Air Force has earned the Commander in Chief's trophy more times than either Army or Navy.
