San Diego State vs Fresno State Game
The San Diego State Aztecs vs Fresno State Bulldogs football game is known as the Battle for the Oil Can and is the major rivalry for the SDSU. The match up began in 1923 when both schools were members of the Southern California Junior College Conference. The Bulldogs and Aztecs have met more than 50 times on the gridiron and the winner of the game is awarded the Oil Can Trophy. The rivalry was put on hold in 1998, but was reignited in 2012 when the Bulldogs moved into the MWC, much to the delight of Aztecs, Bulldogs, and football fans everywhere.

Dating back to 1947, SDSU vs BYU is one of the oldest series for the Aztecs. The match up came to prominence in the 1970's when both schools were members of the WAC.
