The Northwestern Wildcats and Purdue Boilermakers are football rivals in the West Division of the Big Ten Conference. Much of the rivalry between Purdue and Northwestern comes from the fact that are only separated by a mere 140 miles on Interstate 65. Wildcats fans in Evanston can make the short (3 hour) drive down to West Lafayette to see the Cats take on the Boilermakers, and Purdue fans can do the same when their team is playing at Northwestern. Being in the same division means the winner of this game gains a leg up in the division standings which may help propel them to the Big Ten Championship Game. Fans of Northwestern and Purdue will find all of their home games at Ross-Ade Stadium or Ryan Field, and away games, available at TicketCity. On certain years, the NU vs Purdue football game may even be hosted at a special venue like Wrigley Field or Soldier Field.
