The Cowboys running back Samaje Perine had a career high game with 239 yards and 37 carries for the second straight conference championship rivalry game between the two teams. Heisman contender Baker Mayfield passed for 288 yards and three touchdowns which took the OU over Oklahoma State. The Sooners 38-20 win against the Cowboys claimed their spot in the 2016 Sugar Bowl.

Oklahoma State started hot, with quarterback J.W. Walsh driving the Cowboys down the field for an opening field goal. But that would be the last time the Pokes smelled the lead, as the Sooners running game drove over the Cowboys defense. Oklahoma running backs Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine each rushed for more than 130 yards, as the team finished with 344 total yards on the ground. The win put Oklahoma in sole possession of the 2015 Big 12 title.

After a scoreless third quarter the Cowboys matched the Sooners with a 21 point quarter of their own in the fourth capped off by a 92-yard punt return from Tyreek Hill with 45 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime. OT would end with a 21-yard field goal by OSU's Ben Grogan to beat OU 38-35.
