2015 Oklahoma State Football Preview:
It was a tale of two seasons last year for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Cowboys started the season by almost knocking off defending National Champion Florida State, and ended up 6-1, before losing 5 in a row. Despite the failure down the stretch of OSU last season, they come into the 2015 season as one of the outside favorites to win the Big 12. Quarterback Mason Rudolph made major strides last season, and will have a cast of senior running backs and receivers to dish the ball to, highlighted by Jeremy Seaton. The Oklahoma State defense will have one of the best linebacking corps in the Big 12, anchored by senior Ryan Simmons. While TCU and Baylor have to be the favorites to win the Big 12, Oklahoma State should return to the top half of the conference in 2015 and could surprise the two favorites. Top games on the Oklahoma State Cowboys 2015 schedule are at home against TCU, Baylor, and Oklahoma.

2014 Oklahoma State Football Preview:
The Cowboys came up 1 quarter short of winning the Big 12 in 2013. Much of that success was predicated on a defense that simply suffocated opponents. Although the Cowboys return many of their starters from their defensive front, they lost 6 of 7 players behind them. Included in those departures were all-conference linebackers Shaun Lewis, and Parker Graham, and one of the best cornerbacks in the country in Justin Gilbert. Good news for Cowboys fans is that J. W. Walsh returns for his junior season at quarterback, for an offense that has consistently been one of the top in the country over the last half decade. OSU will be tested from the start of the 2014 season, opening with defending national champion Florida State on a neutral field. But if the Cowboys can get rolling on offense, they should be able to eat through the middle of their schedule. The boys from Stillwater will finish the season with one of the toughest 4 game stretches in the Big 12 with their final four games being at Kansas State, Texas, at Baylor, and at Oklahoma.

2013 Oklahoma State Football Preview:
After watching two key players be drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft in 2012, the Oklahoma State Cowboys were forced to rebuild last season. However, head coach Mike Gundy and the Cowboys still managed to win 8 games including a bowl victory over Purdue. Oklahoma State returns quarterbacks Clint Chelf and J.W. Walsh as they combined for 28 passing touchdowns in 2012. Wide receiver Josh Stewart also returns after catching 101 passes for 1,210 yards and 7 touchdowns. The Cowboys should be in the mix for a Big 12 championship and with home games against TCU, Baylor, and Oklahoma, the road to winning their second conference title in three years will be an exciting one.

2011 Oklahoma State Football Preview:
There’s a buzz around Stillwater that hasn’t been heard in a while. OK State head coach Mike Gundy has the Cowboys on the path for a top-10 finish and possible BCS-bowl run after an 11-win season and a share of the Big 12 South championship.

A bulk of the expectations will rest on the shoulders of a very senior Brandon Weeden, the 28-year-old quarterback who led the team by breaking most of the school records, like passing yards and touchdown passes. A huge blow to the team will be the loss of All-American Kendall Hunter to the NFL, but the Cowboys will look to sophomores Joseph Randle and Jeremy Smith to carry the load. What helps Weeden the most, though, is the return of Big 12 Player of the Year, receiver Justin Blackmon. In 2010, he caught a record 1,782 receiving yards last year, and his extra year of collegiate life will help the offense overcome the loss of Hunter.

Defensively, the Cowboys are going to have to remake a wide swath of it since the NFL draft took six, along with two first-team All-Big 12 selections, including corner Andrew McGee. Both their tackles left, leaving two big holes to be filled by senior Jamie Blatnick and sophomore Davidell Collins. While the linebacking corps is still being rebuilt, the staff is hoping that their new look will help them match the underrated numbers put up last year.

2010 Oklahoma State Football Preview:
Oklahoma State's success last season centered largely around their running game. The Cowboys had the top ranked rushing offense in the Big 12 and rode that to a Cotton Bowl appearance against Mississippi.

The offense will look a bit different from 2009, as quarterback Zac Robinson is gone and Dana Holgorsen enters his first year as the team's offensive coordinator. Despite being a run-heavy team a year ago, Holgorsen is widely known for his high-scoring passing game. The former Houston offensive coordinator will have a perfect quarterback for his system as strong-armed junior Brandon Weeden will be under center. The biggest question mark on offense will be the line, as only one starter, Lane Taylor, returns from last year's squad.

The Oklahoma State defense's biggest strength last season was against the run, as it ranked 11th nationally due to allowing a mere 95.8 yards per game. Things may be different this year as only three starters return, though the team hopes to benefit from the return of senior linebacker Orie Lemon who was out all of last year due to an injury. Junior safety Markelle Martin could provide a spark from the defensive backfield as well.

Although the Cowboys have made strides to become nationally relevant, a revamped Oklahoma team and an upstart Texas A&M squad could make it difficult for them to break through.

Oklahoma State Cowboys fans should be jacked up for the 2009 college football season. That is because their OSU Cowboys are going to be one of the best teams in the Big 12 and likely to make noise on the national scene. Pokes Head Coach Mike Gundy returns his top 3 players on an offense that was explosive last season, so the Cowboys hope to keep on rolling. To get where OSU fans want to be (Big 12 Championship Game in Dallas in December) the Cowboys will have to take care of division rivals Texas and Oklahoma. But don't sleep on Oklahoma State in '09, they have one of the best teams in football.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys football team is fast becoming one of the top teams in the Big 12 and could soon become a serious national title contender. The newly remodeled Boone Pickens Stadium and associated athletic complex will rival facilities of most NFL teams. The OSU Cowboys plan to compete at the highest level within the next few years. A game at the stadium - already commonly described as a fanatical experience - will be a wild affair this year as the Cowboys fight to dominate their rivals in the Big 12 South and look for a BCS bowl bid.
