Rutgers has been a mainstay during bowl season since the start of the 2005 season. On December 28, 2013 Rutgers squared off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl as Rutgers was trying to finish the season with seven wins. Average ticket price was $168, an increase over the $120 average price of the 2012 New Era Pinstripe Bowl between West Virginia and Syracuse.
