Texas Football Tickets 2022

The Texas Longhorns football team will face a tough, but fun, schedule of games during the '22 football season. The Horns will play 11 regular-season games during the season, and have the possibility to play two more if they qualify for the Big 12 Championship Game and a major bowl game. UT has 7 home games on its upcoming schedule which include games against: Louisiana, Alabama, UTSA, West Virginia, Iowa State, TCU and Baylor. The Horns will play four true road games (at Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, KState and Kansas) plus their annual rivalry game vs. OU.

The biggest game on the schedule is that Alabama home game in week 2. The Bama vs Texas game is undoubtedly the biggest home game in Austin for over a decade, and that includes marquee games like LSU, Notre Dame and USC. Expect Bama to bring a ton of their fans to see the amazing city of Austin, and Longhorn fans to show up in droves to see the Crimson Tide. As every single burnt orange fan in Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio will be clamoring to be inside DKR on gameday. Prices on Bama vs Texas tickets are already really high, and likely only to continue growing as there limited supply of available tickets on the secondary ticket market. The next most popular '22 games is Texas OU. Fans wanting to buy Texas vs OU tickets can shop our plentiful options.

UT fans looking for the games that may be the best value in 2022 will want to check out the UTSA game on September 17, as the Roadrunners bring a very good football team to Austin. There will also be plenty of interest in the Baylor game on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, as the Bears have ascended to the top tier of the conference in football. Expect that BU vs UT game to be among the best in college football that weekend. Horns fans who are looking for a unique experience on the road need to look no further than the Texas at Texas Tech game in Lubbock on September 24. After the reception the UT Men's Basketball team got in Lubbock in early '22, Tech's football stadium will be filled up with Red Raiders looking to make some noise.

How will Texas perform in Year 2 under Head Coach Steve Sarkisian? That is question everyone is asking in Austin as they Longhorns have a fan base that is ready to start winning big again right now. The Texas Longhorns come into 2022 with a youthful, talented roster which includes many impact transfers into the program. The Longhorns coaching staff has had some slight improvements and they are preaching to the players to get the "win now" mentality from everyone. Those new additions (both players and coaches) have the energy around the Longhorns program quite high. The QB1 for the Longhorns will come from among an amazing crop of candidates: Quin Ewers, Hudson Card and Charles Wright. Hopes around Austin is that UT can compete with Baylor, OU & Iowa State to win the Big 12 in 2022.

The other big question those around the Horns program want to know is when UT starts playing an SEC schedule. The Horns looming exit from the Big 12 is making their current games with long-time foes like Baylor, TCU and Texas Tech even more in-demand. Likewise, the demand for tickets for Texas' first season playing in the SEC will be enormous as UT fans look forward to seeing them play the likes of Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas A&M on an annual basis. That first SEC football season could be the Fall of '23, although the UT Athletic Director continues to say publicly that it will be closer to the 2025 deadline to move. TicketCity has tickets available for all Horns games in the Big 12, and SEC.

Texas Longhorns Football

Demand for Texas football is strong each season, as the Horns have a passionate fan base that ranks among the best in college sports. Each home game Saturday in the Fall, UT fills their stadium up with loud, passionate fans that have been a big part of getting UT to over 920 victories. DKR is the place to be in Austin anytime the Horns have a home game. The game day atmosphere is electric from the start of Bevo Blvd, prior to the game, until the crowd finishes signing the Eyes of Texas at the end of the game. If you love college football, then make sure you get to the 40 Acres to see the Longhorns play a home football game.

The most popular home games for UT are their Big 12 match-ups with Baylor, Iowa State, KState, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech and WVU. The biggest game on the Horns annual schedule is the TX/OU game at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Longhorn fans have high expectations for the team in 2022 and expect the Horns to be competing for a spot in the Big 12 Championship game, and be in the mix for a major bowl game. A special year for Texas would get them in the mix for one of the available spots in the College Football Playoff, which would provide the Horns a chance to add another National Championship Trophy to their collection.

TicketCity has a long history offering tickets to the University of Texas Longhorns football team. When we opened our doors in 1990, it was among the first events we offered tickets for sale. Over the decades since then we have attended hundreds of UT football games in-person, so we truly are experts on attending a Horns game.

Texas OU Game

Fans wanting to see the best rivalry game in college football should get to Dallas for the 2022 Red River Showdown between Texas & Oklahoma. The Texas OU game has been played at the Cotton Bowl Stadium since 1937. The Longhorn and Sooner fans split the Cotton Bowl Stadium between burnt orange and crimson, with each fan base controlling one half of the stadium. The cheers go back and forth the entire game as the action plays out on the legendary football field. The backdrop to Texas/OU is the State Fair of Texas, which is going out just outside the stadium and provides the unique setting for the game. The Fair has a special place for many fans attending the game who have to eat a Fletcher's corn dog and get a beer in the special State Fair wax paper cups. Having been to this game many times, we can tell you with first-hand knowledge that attending Texas OU does not disappoint.

Texas Football Games at DKR

The Texas Longhorns play their home football games at the amazing Darrell K Royal Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas. The legendary football venue ranks among the finest in college football and has been renovated many times over the years to make sure it offers modern amenities. The stadium is among the biggest in Texas, as it holds over 100,000 football fans on UT game day. The largest crowd that UT has ever hosted at DKR is 105,213 for the 2022 game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. There's nothing quite like walking into DKR and seeing the sea of burnt orange and hearing the fans scream "TEXAS FIGHT!" with 100,000 hands in the air throwing up the Hook 'Em Horns. The gameday atmosphere has always been fun at UT home games, but the Athletic Department under AD Chris Del Conte has made conscious effort to offer better music, concessions, wifi and more amenities to make the game better for fans.

The biggest draw for many fans attending UT home games are the first-class, premium hospitality seating areas. The Longhorns opened up the new South Endzone premium seating in 2021, which include living room style seating in "boxes" and ability to stand down on field-level. The new sections in the South Endzone now make the entire stadium enclosed with fans on all sides of the field. The South Endzone seating is entirely setup Club Seating and Suites so the price tag on tickets in this area can be quite high. For more affordable options, check out the opportunities mentioned below.

Best Places to Sit at DKR

The tickets at DKR are that have the most demand are the Touchdown Club in the North Endzone. The TD Club includes Sections 13C-19C, which span the North Endzone from East to West. This area is the most popular area to buy tickets because it's a big indoor/outdoor football party and very social. Fans in this area have sits in the stands, but can retreat inside to enjoy the air conditioning, complimentary food buffets, complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and a full cash bar for beer, liquor and wine. The other club area that offers similar amenities with a sideline view is the Texas Club (Sections 28C-29C) which straddle the 50-yard line on the East side of DKR.

The home bench is on the lower west sideline (in-front of Sections 3-6), which is commonly referred to as the “Alumni side” or just the West Side. The chairback seats in Sections 4 and 5 off some of the best views of the field in the stadium. A true experience for a UT home game is to sit in Row 1 in Sections 3-6 on West side which puts you directly behind the action on the UT home bench, and provides an unforgettable experience (especially for kids attending the game). Most football fans will say the best seats are Sections 3-6 in-between rows 6-56 which are all chairback seats with nice view of field. Chairbacks seating in Sections 3-6 starts at row 6 and the entire side will be shaded in the 2nd half of games that kickoff in the late afternoon or evening. Sitting in rows 53-78 will put you under the cover of the overhang which keeps you out of the sun or rain for portions of the game.

One of the best values at DKR is the north end zone. The lower level endzone (sections 13-18) has a great view of the field and the giant HD jumbotron located directly across the field. These seats are on the lower-level but typically significantly cheaper than sideline seats on the lower-level of DKR. The UT Band enters the field through a tunnel under Section 16 making the atmosphere in these sections loud and exciting for UT fans.

The cheapest seats at DKR for a Horns home game will be in the upper-deck on the West side or in the corners. Sections 101, 102, 108 and 109 have 50+ rows so those higher rows are often the lowest priced tickets for any game. There are also usually some good values in the upper endzone corners between Sections 116-124, which is partially assigned to the visiting team. On the lower-level, the cheapest seats are going to be in Section 1 or Section 32 which are both corner locations that are kind of behind the endzone. The seats on the upper East side get a lot of sun for day games, as the late afternoon sun will shine directly on Sections 125-132.

Fans looking for the most comfortable seating should consider whether they want bleacher seats or chairbacks which offer arm rests and drink holders. DKR has mostly bleacher style seats, but there are certain areas with chairbacks including the club-seating. Other seats that are chairbacks include Sections 3-6 (only row 6 and higher), Sections 101-109 (only first 17 rows), Sections 111-123 (only first 8 rows, Sections 125-131 (only first 8 rows) and Sections 124 & 132 (only first 5 rows).
