The Texas Longhorns always play some of the top teams in college football. As part of the South Division of the Big 12 Conference, many of those teams are on the schedule each season. Below are a few of the common matchups that the Longhorns face each season:
One of the premier rivals in college football is the one between the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners. This game is made even more special because it is played at a neutral site each season. TX/OU is played at the Cotton Bowl in South Dallas. The game is played in front of an audience that is half Longhorns and half Sooners. The fans are split right down the 50 yard line, with a sea of Orange on one side and a sea of Crimson on the other. Texas/OU weekend is always played during the State Fair of Texas, so the atmosphere outside the stadium is one of the best in sports. You can ride the roller coaster, eat a Fletcher’s corn dog, drink a cold beer and then walk in and watch a fantastic college football game.
