In 2015, West Virginia Mountaineers played in the Cactus Bowl against Arizona State Sun Devils. The Mountaineers got the win by one point with a final score of 43-42 in their first Cactus Bowl. Quarterback Skylar Howard, threw 532 yards setting a new Cactus Bowl record.
