Boston Beanpot

The Beanpot, as its known in Boston, is one of the premiere hockey tournaments in the country. The Beanpot is a competition each February among the four major college hockey schools in Boston. The Beanpot has been played since the early 1950's.

Beanpot Tournament Format

It is a four-game tournament where two schools match up in the first-round (which is set by an annual rotation). The two winning teams play each other for the Beanpot championship, while the two first-round losers play in a spirited consolation match.
