With a year round demand for some of the music industry’s most prominent artists, the average ticket price for concerts can vary tremendously, but as demand for a concert builds so does the average price of the ticket.
Some of the biggest names in the music industry are spending 2017 on the road. U2's Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary Tour is set to be one of the biggest tours of the year, and median ticket prices to see the rock legends are at $315. Other hit artists such as Red Hot Chili Peppers and Twenty One Pilots saw their ticket prices reach high levels with median ticket prices of $149, and $115 respectively.
Other established artists such as Bon Jovi continued to sell tickets extremely well, with median ticket prices for Bon Jovi rising to $110. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers announced their 40th Anniversary Tour, and median ticket prices for the Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers 2017 tour are at $146.
One of the top pop acts of 2016 is Bruno Mars who will the year playing shows across North America on his 24k Magic Tour. Median ticket prices for Bruno Mars tickets have reached an impressive $179. Some of the other top pop artists of 2017 are The Weeknd, Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber.
In the country genre, a mixture of contemporary and established artists combined to make the list of the top tours of the year.
Garth Brook’s world tour with Trisha Yearwood helped push the iconic country artist to one of the top selling tours of 2016 and the trend continues in 2017. Median ticket prices to the Garth Brooks world tour are $139. While newer artists such as Eric Church and Florida Georgia Line continue to experience one of the best years of their growing careers.
