Sometimes referred to as ‘The Bad Boys from Boston’, the all-American band, Aerosmith formed in 1970 and is still rocking music worldwide. The band has roots in hard rocked based blues and also performs under the genres of rock, rhythm and blues, as well as heavy metal. The band, for the most part, has been inspired by rock artists that moved the crowd with their performances. The band consists of 5 members, the guitarist Joe Perry, bassist Tom Hamilton, Steven Tyler the vocalist, pianist, and harmonicist, as well as Joey Kramer and Ray Tabano (replaced by Brad Whitford). After releasing their first album, fame followed them in everything they did and it got them a record deal with Columbia Records. The band’s first 5 released albums won the hearts of millions worldwide, and unbelievably, all 5 albums received certification as multi-platinum. Soon after, they became one of the most famous rock bands in the entire world. Aerosmith refer to their loyal fan followers with a special title, they call them their ‘Blue Army’. After the temporary departure of Whitford and Perry, Rick Dufay and Jimmy Crespo joined the band. Aerosmith is one of the best-selling American rock bands. Over the years, they have sold over 150 million records worldwide. Their record sales in the United States total to 70 million.

Aerosmith has produced 12 multi-platinum, 18 platinum, and 25 golden albums. The band has achieved the record for most gold albums by an American band and they also have the record for most certifications received by an American band. They are even neck in neck with the record for most multi-platinum albums, which is a tie for now. Other achievements include having 21 out of 40 top hits on the Billboard Hot 100, and winning 4 Grammy Awards. They’ve won 10 MTV Video Music Awards and six American Music Awards over the years. In 2001, they were honored by being inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2013, Steven Tyler and Perry were inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. To entertain their fans worldwide, Aerosmith has continuously toured and played concerts from 2001 except in 2008. On Feb 26th, 2015, the film Aerosmith Rocks Donington Park was featured across 300 theaters in the United States. On the 13th of June, Aerosmith will start their ‘Blue Army’ tour which they’ll perform in 17 different locations throughout America.
