Kings of Leon consists of brothers (who all use their middle names) Anthony Caleb, Ivan Nathan, Michael Jared and their cousin, Cameron Matthew Followill. They formed the band back in 1999, in Nashville, TN. They consider themselves an alternative/southern rock, garage band with roots of blues. They had commercial success with their hit single, “Sex on Fire” from their album, Only by the Night and after a three year hiatus have recently released their sixth studio album, Mechanical Bull,” with the single, “Supersoaker.” The group is touring this year in support of that album in a 42-city event starting in Atlanta, GA on February 5th. “Come Around Sundown” Tour 2010
In June 2010, the band embarked on a tour visiting more than 50 cities in North America and Europe that ran from June 5th to September 23rd. While the tour itself ran into a few mishaps, it was an overall commercial success. The band has three factors that make them a success, they cohesiveness that only brothers can have, the simplicity of their sound and the consistency of their form. Songs like “Molly’s Chamber” and “Four Kicks” started the show and carried the crowd through to the end.
Kings of Leon “Mechanical Bull” World Tour 2014
After a three-year hiatus, Kings of Leon hit the road in support of their sixth studio album, Mechanical Bull. With Caleb leading the vocals, “Supersoaker” made its debut amongst the strobe lights and massive screens. It appears the band never left the music venues; they popped right back into their southern rock - returned to form and are filling the large arenas with the music fans have grown to love. You can expect to hear from the new album, “Wait For Me” and “Temple” with their classic tunes, “Sex on Fire,” “On Call” and “Knocked Up.” They will hit a total of 42 cities, including Europe.
Top cities hosting this powerful southern rock band are Nashville, TN on February 7th at the Bridgestone Arena, New York, NY on Valentines Day at Madison Square Garden, Washington, DC on February 21 at Budweiser Gardens and three stops in Canada on February 23rd, 24th and 25th. They will paly Los Angeles on March 21st at The Forum, Seattle’s Key Arena on March 28th and then back to Canada for 4 more shows. They finish the tour in Europe in Werchter, Belgium on July 6th.
