Weezer is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1992. Weezer consists of Ryan Cuomo on vocals and guitar, Patrick Wilson on drums, Brian Bell on rhythm guitar and keyboard, and Scott Schriner on bass, although many members of Weezer will sing backing vocals on most of their songs. In 1993, Weezer signed to Geffen Records and released their debut self-titled album, which featured a blue album cover and the band’s name and has come to be known as “The Blue Album”. In 1994, “The Blue Album” went triple platinum. Much of the success of the band’s first album was attributed to their hit singles, “Buddy Holly”, “Say It Ain’t So”, “Undone – The Sweater Song”, and many of the band’s other hit singles on the album. Weezer’s second album, Pinkerton, was released in 1996 and featured a darker and more abrasive sound for the band. In 2001, Weezer released another self-titled album, this time with a green album cover, which came to be known as “The Green Album”. This record featured the band’s hit songs “Hash Pipe”, “Island in the Sun”, and many more fan favorites.
Weezer's fourth album was titled Malafroit, released in 2002. In 2005, Weezer released their fifth studio album, titled Make Believe, which featured one of their hit songs, “Beverly Hills”, which received extensive radio air play. The band released their third self-titled album, this time against a red album cover, which came to be known as “The Red Album”. “The Red Ablum” contained the band’s hit singles “Pork and Beans”. In 2009, Ratitude was released, Weezer’s seventh studio album, followed by their eighth album, titled Hurley in 2010. In 2014, Weezer released another album, titled Everything Will Be Alright in the End, which was received by fans as one of their most acclaimed albums yet.
