Grant is an icon and trailblazer for the Contemporary Christian music genre. She is the first Christian singer to crossover to mainstream music and become not only the first Platinum/Gold singer in that genre, a six-time Christian Grammy winner, but also a Billboard Top 100 pop recording artist. She has released 16 studio albums; all but three of Grants Christian albums were number one on the Top Christian Albums chart. Her first hit single was “My Father’s Eyes” from the same titled album; her real success came from “Age to Age,” releasing the single “El Shaddai.” Selling over one-million copies, this made it the first Contemporary Christian solo album to become certified Gold and certified Platinum. In 1991, Grant released her only pop album “Heart in Motion,” which became 5x Platinum album and produced the hits, “Baby Baby,” “That’s What Love is For” and “I Will Remember You.” The album did not come without controversy within the Christian community; claiming she was becoming too sexy and liberal. On April 14 of this year, she is set to release her newest album, “Be Still and Know…Hymns and Faith,” with her country artist husband, Vince Gill. The album features previously recorded tracks plus new songs written by Gill. She will tour in April starting in Michigan hitting Tennessee, Florida, Dallas-Texas and ending in Nashville in December. Amy Grant 2013 Tour

With her newly released album “How Mercy Looks From Here,” Grant went from one side of the US to the other, singing and repeatedly taking off her shoes. She has an ease about her that is both humble and inviting. She started her sets with “Every Heartbeat” inviting singing and energy from the audience. Her sets were between 14 and 20 songs and included hits like “Lucy One,” “The Word,” “After The Fire” and “Simple Things.” Her back-up singer even joined in by singing a Cher version of Patsy Cline’s “Crazy.”
