This Houston Texas native, who goes simply by Beyoncè, has become one of the biggest Pop- R&B Soul singers of all time. She started in the all girl band Destiny’s Child, but in 2003 she released her first solo album Dangerously In Love, with singles, “Crazy In Love” and “Baby Boy.”
Knowles ventured into acting by portraying Etta James in Cadillac Records and also starred in Obsessed. She started dating and eventually marrying singer Jay-Z, aka Shawn Carter. Both events inspired her alter ego, Sasha Fierce, and the Song Of The Year “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).” In the last few years, she broke away from management with her father, took a hiatus to have a baby, Blue Ivy, and to get inspired again. Her latest solo album is set for release this year, however, there is some mystery surrounding not only the name of the album, but the actual date it will hit stores. Some releases, “Bow Down/I Been On,” “Grown Woman,” and “Standing In The Sun.” With her elaborate costume changes, dance numbers and high-octane voice, Beyoncè is sure to sing a majority of her career spanning hits. Beyonce Formation World Tour
In early 2016, rumors began to emerge of another major world tour for Beyonce. Following her performance at Super Bowl 50, Beyonce announced what would be her 7th headlining tour, titled “The Formation Tour.” Formation Tour tickets went on sale in early February 2016, and quickly became some of the hottest selling tickets of Beyonce’s career. The Formation Tour pulls its name from Beyonce’s 2016 single “Formation,” and is initially scheduled to have a North American leg, followed by a trip to Europe. Beyonce concerts are some of the highest production in the world and the Formation Tour includes a partnership with audio company THX. Formation Tour Tickets are sold for concerts held in some of the largest stadiums across the World and will be among the highest attended shows of 2016.
“I Am…” World Tour
In April of 2009 Beyonce kicked off her “I Am…” tour and hit the Americas, Europe Asia, Africa and Australia. The tour had her trademark costume changes, theatrics and emotional nuances in some of the slower tempo songs. The North America tour started at the iconic Madison Square Garden and continued to others like the Staples Center, Louisiana’s Superdome and The Palace of Auburn Hills. The show included a surprise performance with hubby Jay-Z and her alter ego Sasha Fierce always makes an appearance. Beyoncè describes her as on-stage persona who creates the sensual and aggressive performer.
“The Mrs. Carter Show” Tour
When the tour was first announced after her Super Bowl performance earlier this year, many of the venues sold out almost immediately, so more dates had to be added. The tour in North America begins at Rogers Stadium in Vancouver BC on November 30, 2013 and ends in Brooklyn, NY at the Barclays Center on December 22, 2013. This year the tour saw criticisms over her costumes and the tours naming, after her husband, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. Beyoncè answers by saying she fashions herself as a “modern day feminist.”
The tour launches in Vancouver and will then shoot down through California stopping in San Jose and the HP Pavilion and the Staples Center in Los Angeles December 2 and 3, 2013. From there Las Vegas and the MGM Garden Arena will host on December 6th. She will make two stops in her native Texas, Dallas and her hometown Houston, December 9 and 10th. Chicago and the United Center welcome Beyoncè on December 13 with a brief stop back in Canada at the Air Canada Centre on December 16 before winding down with two stops in Brooklyn NY.
