Alabama Tickets

Alabama is a band an America country, southern rock, and bluegrass band formed in Fort Payne, Alabama in 1969. The band was founded by Randy Owen, the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, and his cousin Teddy Gentry, the bass guitarist and background vocalist, also joined by their other cousin Jeff Cook on lead guitar, fiddle, and background vocals. Alabama first started performing under the name Wildcountry, touring the southeast bar circuit in the early 1970s. The band changed their name to Alabama in 1977 after the success of their two chart topping singles and signed to RCA records. One of Alabama’s biggest successes came in the 1980s when the band had over 27 number one hits, 7 multi-platinum albums and received numerous awards.

After singing to RCA Records, Alabama released their first single “Tennessee River” as well as their number one single, “Love in the First Degree” released in 1981, “Mountain Magic”, released in 1982, “Dixieland Delight”, released in 1983, “If You’re Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band)” in 1984 and “Song of the South”, released in 1987. Alabama’s blend of traditional country music and southern rock combined with elements of gospel and pop gave the band a crossover sound which led to their success into the 90s and 2000s, helping them sell over 75 million records worldwide, making Alabama one of the bestselling recording artists of all time.

Alabama is also one of the most awarded bands of all time, winning over 200 awards from a variety of organizations including academy awards and country music awards. Although Alabama took a brief hiatus, they reunited in 2015 and started recording again. Don’t miss your next opportunity to see Alabama live in concert.
