George Strait’s last tour in 2010-11 included Reba McIntire and Lee Womack and set new records in some of the venues that hosted the event. The tour focused on Strait’s albums, Twang and Here For A Good Time with singles, “Drinkin Man,” “I Gotta Get You,” “Living For The Night” and “The Breath You Take.” Wearing his trademark black Stetson cowboy hat, starched jeans and cowboy boots, Strait took the stage and fans heard the list of songs that has made him the “King of Country.”
“Cowboy Rides Away” Tour
This 26-city final tour, which launched earlier in 2013, continues in Bossier City, LA on January 9, next stopping in his home state of Texas at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin on January 10. Special guests featured each night include Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Merle Haggard, Chris Young and includes his band Ace In The Hole. Strait will be making stops in many of his favorite places to honor his fans he stated on his web site. Featured songs will be “Give It Away,” “Check Yes Or No,” “High Tone Woman” and Johnny Cash covers like “Folsom Prison Blues” and “Jackson.”
The top spots on the tour will be the Valley View Casino in San Diego on January 13, The Palace in Auburn Hills on Valentine’s Day and Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH on February 15.
