Unlike many country music artists of his generation, Kenny Chesney's career didn't take off right from the get-go. Born in Powell, Tenn., Chesney discovered an interest in music during high school and began to play gigs at local clubs near his college of East Tennessee State University. Over the course of the early '90s, Chesney began to attract the attention of the Nashville music executives and signed with Sony BMG in 1995.

Although Chesney's first album, In My Wildest Dreams, was a flop, his second album, All I Need To Know, gained traction on the country charts and yielded two Top 10 country hits with "Fall In Love" and "All I Need To Know." The 1996 follow-up, Me And You, was his first record to go gold and featured a slew of successful singles like "When I Close My Eyes."

Chesney's real breakthrough album came in 1999 with Everywhere We Go, which sold more than 2 million copies and spawned the successful country hits "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy," "How Forever Feels" and "You Had Me From Hello." After this groundbreaking record, each of Chesney's next 8 next albums hit No. 1 on the U.S. country charts and kicked off an unprecedented run of success that has taken him to the top of the country music scene. With a highly anticipated album set to drop in 2013 and another major tour planned, Kenny Chesney fans have plenty of surprises to look forward to in the near future.
