David Gilmour is an English singer, song writer, composer, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist who is best known for his role as the guitarist and vocalist in Pink Floyd. David Gilmour joined the progressive rock bank in 1968, replacing Syd Barrett who left Pink Floyd shortly after David Gilmour joined the band. Following David Gilmour joining Pink Floyd, the band achieved international success with their concept album The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall. With David Gilmour, Pink Floyd became one of the bestselling bands of all time, selling over 250 million records all over the world, an estimated 75 million of which came from the United States alone. When Roger Waters left Pink Floyd in 1985, David Gilmour assumed the role of frontman and lead singer. David Gilmour was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Pink Floyd in 1996 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. David Gilmour was also made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to music that same year. He was awarded with the Outstanding Contribution title at the 2008 Q Awards. In 2011, Rolling Stone magazine ranked him number 14 in their list of the greatest guitarists of all time. Additionally, Gilmour was voted number 36 in the greatest voices in rock by Planet Rock listeners in 2009.

David Gilmour Rattle That Lock Tour 2015-2016
In 2015 David Gilmour released his solo studio album titled Rattle That Lock and embarked on a world tour in support of the album. The tour lasted throughout 2015 and 2016 and saw David Gilmour performing at venues all over the world, including The Hollywood Bowl and The Forum in California. During David Gilmour’s concerts on his Rattle That Lock world tour, he played manysongs from his 2015 released album with the same name, but also performed a variety of fan favorite songs from his prior albums and select songs from Pink Floyd.
