Delta Rae is an American folk rock band that consists of three siblings Ian Hölljes, Eric Hölljes and Brittany Hölljes, as well as Elizabeth Hopkins, Mike McKee and Grant Emerson. They call Durham, NC home and got their name from a story their mother wrote about a Southern girl (Delta Rae), who summons Greek Gods to earth. The group set up home in an old house in the woods, and set about finding their collective voice, crafting their songs, and playing them live. Their debut album, Carry the Fire, was released in 2012 and just a year later they released Chasing Twisters, with the single, “If I Loved You” featuring Lindsey Buckingham. Their music is not idle listening music, but rather music that demands to be listened to. Score with Ticketcity - the place to go for Delta Rae concert tickets.
Delta Rae Chasing Twisters Tour
The band gracefully alternates between four primary vocalists —siblings Ian, Eric and Brittany Holljes, as well as Elizabeth Hopkins, in a manner that’s exquisitely respectful to each other, and also intriguing to the audiences that see them. They will be promoting their newest release, Chasing Twisters, and while this little sextet is still unknown, they are making a name for themselves by bringing down the house with audiences who didn’t know who they were. They don’t have the trapezes or fireworks of the big tours, but they have three powerhouse voices and harmony in the band without ego. Sets start out rocking and move to a slower pace, ending with the large, brassy vocals of Hopkins. Songs featured on their tour will be from both albums, including singles “If I Loved You” and “Bottom Of The River.”
The top cities to host this dynamic group are Washington D.C on February 15 at the 9:30 Club, Charlottesville on February 20 at the Jefferson Theater, Philly on February 21 at the World Café Live, New York City on February 25 at The Bowery. They will end in Charlotte, NC on April 25 at the Visulite Theater.
Delta Rae Set List
Delta Rae will start the show with “Morning Comes,” “Holding On To Good,” “Is There Anyone Out There,” “Whatcha Thinkin Bout Baby” and “Forgive The Children We Once Were.” “If I loved You” is the latest single to be released and because it is a song about being the heartbreaker, and not the broken hearted, it’s the crowds favorite ending to the night.
