Founded by Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters, the All-American band, was initially a one-man project when it was formed in 1994 after the death of the legendry Kurt Cobain. Grohl was initially a part of Nirvana which disbanded after Cobain’s sudden death in Seattle in 1994. After working with several different artists, Grohl created Foo Fighters, named after the famous term from WWII. The main idea behind the formation of the band was to support the album which Grohl wanted to release in anonymity. After the release of their very first album, which proved to be successful, they released 7 more albums. The 8th, Sonic Highways is the latest one out. The band wanted to commemorate their 20th anniversary with an appreciation of their successful relationship with an HBO TV Series that they’ve contributed to. They did this by naming their latest album and tour after the series, Sonic Highways. After the release of the successful album, the band toured in Cape Town and Johannesburg in December 2014. More success followed the band after the 2014 tours thanks to three very successful performances from the band under the alias name of “The Holy Shits”. This success had given the band new fan emergence in the UK. Eventually, a band named the “UK Foo Fighters” was created as a tribute by their ecstatic fans. The Sonic Highway Tour 2015 is all set to work its magic in the UK and worldwide, after their success in Australia and New Zealand. The band is now also looking forward to more concerts before the tour officially ends. So far, the 2015 tour has been so successful that Foo Fighters have been ranked 21st in the top 100 performer’s list. The members of the band include Dave Grohl, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, and Taylor Hawkins. Former members included are Franz Stahl and William Goldsmith. Rami Jaffee has been a part of the band as well since 2005 assisting in touring and sessions.
