The Grand Rapids Symphony was founded in 1930 under musical director Karl Wecker. In the following years, it grew to become one of the largest in the US and provide support for education and civic programs in the Grand Rapids community. The symphony performs at the DeVos Performance Hall, seating 2400 as part of the DeVos Place Convention Center.
