Grateful Dead Tickets Information

Few bands have experienced the longevity or had the impact on music as the Grateful Dead. The Grateful Dead formed in 1965 in Palo Alto, California and have risen to become rock and roll legends. The founding members of the Grateful Dead include Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Ron McKernan, Phil Lesh, and Bill Kreutzmann. The band achieved major success with their 2nd studio album titled Anthem of the Sun. Anthem of the Sun is often considered one of the best rock albums ever recorded and helped turn the Grateful Dead into one of the iconic bands to come out of the 1960’s counterculture movement.

The Grateful Dead would go on to write iconic albums like American Beauty, Working Man’s Dead, Live/Dead, Reckoning, and Aoxomoxoa. Overall, Grateful Dead wrote more than 20 studio albums, with their latest work, Without a Net being released in 1990. Grateful Dead are known for a few iconic images and artwork including the Dancing Bears, Skull and roses, Jester, and Dancing terrapins.

Fans of the Grateful Dead are often referred to as “Deadheads,” and are among the most passionate in all of rock and roll. In 1994, the Grateful Dead were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. 2015 marks the 50th anniversary of Grateful Dead and brought the band back together for their first shows since 1995.
