Guster is an American alternative rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. Guster Was founded in 1991 by band members Adam Gardner, Ryan Miller and Brian Rosenworcel, whom all met at Tuft’s University in Medford, Massachusetts. Originally playing only local shows, Guster began to spread out of their hometown and play shows in Canada as they became more popular, followed by a world tour in 2004. Guster is perhaps most famous for making all of their live shows available for download to fans on iTunes. Guster’s debut album was released independently, titled Parachute, in 1994. Guster released their second album in 1996, titled Goldfly. In 1998, the band attracted the attention of Sire Records and re-released Goldfly on Sire. Later in 1998, Guster released the album Lost and Gone Forever. Guster appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman shortly after this release and debuted a music video for a track called “Fa Fa”. Guster’s fourth studio album, Keep It Together, was released in 2003 and featured their hit single “Amsterdam”, which received significant radio air time. A live DVD recording from their shows was released later that year, called Guster On Ice. In 2005, the band released the single “Manifest Destiny / Sorority Tears” on their website to critical acclaim. Guster also released a documentary comedy series called Joe’s Place on their website. The band toured extensively in the years following their releases, including playing shows on cruise ships alongside John Mayer and Barenaked Ladies. Guster won the Boston Music Awards Album of the Year award in 2006. In 2010, the band released their sixth studio album titled Easy Wonderful. Another world tour took place in support of this album and the band performed at sold out stadiums all around the world. In 2015, Guster’s seventh studio album, Evermotion, was released to critical acclaim and set off on another world tour in support of its release. In 2015, Guster began touring worldwide in support of their 2015 released album, Evermotion, playing at arenas, stadiums, and music festivals all over the world. During Guster’s 2015 tour, the band played many fan favorite hits such as “Fa Fa”, “Amsterdam”, “Manifest Destiny / Sorority Tears”, as well as many songs from their 2015 album, Evermotion.
